Clayton P

Clayton started his DJ career with Jimmy Rainbow’s Rainbow Heart Discotheque in the clubs and pubs all over Scotland back in the mid 70’s.

He moved to Newcastle in the early 80s to then famous Tuxedo Junction on Market Street where he performed his unique style of presenting to a jazz-funk and R&B audience.

He left Newcastle in the late 80’s to seek his fortune in the United States where he eventually worked part time as a radio presenter on a radio station in Annapolis, Maryland playing music on a Saturday night.

Arriving back later to the UK he thought he had left the music scene behind him only to meet up with Jimmy Rainbow again years later, and be invited to join a local Edinburgh community station in 2009. He had a regular feature slot called Soul Stream, and left there in 2014.

He took a short break from broadcasting but is now back on the scene with Soul Stream on 107.8 Black Diamond FM broadcasting on a Monday evening between 8–10pm playing the very best in Soul, R&B, a splash of Reggae, Funk and South African House.

You can listen to a mixture of artists from Adiva to Donna Summer, George Benson to Black Coffee and lots lots more. He describes his show as ‘Old Skool Funk & Soul’.
