Just in case one or both of my fans were listening to last nights Wednesday Live Sports Show on 107.8 Black Diamond FM, I was posed a question by our chief oracle Ryan Kelly over how many games and goals I’ve watched this season. Sat down and took a look and for purely Lowland League and East of Scotland fixtures, I’ve been privileged to have reported on a total of 180 goals in 42 matches, not including penalty kick deciders. A very healthy average of nearly 4.5 goals per game means I and many other fans have been royally entertained, with only one scoreless game and a top aggregate of 11 goals in a crazy cup tie one Sunday afternoon at Tweedmouth. As ever, I’m looking forward to my last match of 2021 tonight, a tasty East Lothian derby at Millfield between Haddington and Ormiston, roll on more of the same in 2022
A second round EOS League Cup tie saw the pairing of two form teams at New Moor Park, as a Linton Hotspur team who took the scalp of Premier side Edinburgh University in the previous round and who are riding high in the third division, hosted another Premier side.
