Black Faggot is a series of short sketches focusing on race, religion and sexuality.
Fasitua Amosa and Beulah Koale act as several different characters, from playing two single men in a gay bar, to a young man who attempts at coming out to his mother. Each scene is highly energetic, well performed and stunningly entertaining. The duo are terrific and clearly have a talent for being on stage.
Throughout the enjoyable performance, we’re introduced to Christian – a young man who constantly prays to God to “pray the gay away”. The overall message the play leaves is that everybody should be proud of who you are.
From start to finish, the script is cleverly written and see’s the character stories develop through each hilarious sketch. Both performers have a passion for being on stage and I’d love to see them back again next year.
