At the weekend the first Walking Football Festival took place where 15 teams from all over Scotland came along to take part in a sport that has seen success since it was introduced to Midlothian, with a lot of young lads over 50 taking part. Organised and run, walking football has been seen as a great way to encourage people who have or may not have had an active life in the sport to stay active and healthy. Well at the weekend there had to be a winner, taking away the Yvonne Coull Memorial Shield and that went to Hibernian FITT. The final was played against Glasgow Life FC. Thanks goes to SPFL Trust, Paths for All, SAMH, and Spartans Football Academy who made this festival a success. Well done to all our local players who took part in the Festival
