3. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) During the last two weeks temperatures have fallen quickly and then eased off again. Water-levels and clarity have fluctuated considerably depending on weather conditions. Overall there have still been some fine catches recorded on the better days.
The Boathouse Pool has fished steadily. Mr. Tidcolme enjoyed a productive session taking four fish for 10lbs and releasing a magnificent brownie estimated at 13lbs. 5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The week started cold and frosty but the main area of Swanswater and the Millpond remained ice free thanks to the aerators being switched on. During the cold spell the fish were out in middle of the pond and were to be found deep down. Towards the end of the week the weather turned a little milder and the fish moved closer to the bank and nearer the surface. The fishing was pretty good all week with some good bags coming off. Most were taken on lures with Dancer, Humungus and Cat’s Whisker the favourite patterns. Other successful flies included Bloodworm, Bibio, Buzzer and Cormorant.
