Semi-final place for Bonnyrigg Rose

todayMay 11, 2016

Background

Bonnyrigg Rose have made it to the semi-finals of the Fife and Lothians Cup after a game last night against Tranent Juniors. The Midlothian supporters watched on as Bonnyrigg went from one goal to a final 6 goals scored, where as Tranent scored one goal in the game. At the start of the game Tranent went down to 10 men after Craig Wojtowycz brought down Chris Tobin in the box, resulting in a penalty, with no goal scored. 7 minutes later Bonnyrigg saw their first goal scored by Tobin. Bonnyrigg took their lead to 2-0 after 28 minutes and continued to control the game, their third goal came after 39 minutes scored by Ross Drummond. 3 goals down, the fourth goal was scored just before half time, what could Tranent do now ? What about using substitutes ? Darren Flynn and Hamish Hunter were used to try and change the course of the game. 2 minutes into the second half and Bonnyrigg increase their lead to make it 5-0. Tranent did get their goal when Ben Miller scored, but that did not stop Bonnyrigg’s Johnathon Brown finishing the game off by scoring with a penalty when Donaldson was brought down. So the final score was Tranent Juniors 1 Bonnyrigg Rose 6, Good luck to Bonnyrigg who will play either Linlithgow Rose or Musselburgh in the semi-finals in the Fife and Lothians Cup
