BLAM!, Review

★★★★★ The Pleasance Courtyard | Aug 5-31 | 17:55 | £ 16.50 / 10.50   I missed BLAM! when it came to Edinburgh in 2013, so when I heard it was back in town I had to go along.    Set amongst the boring grey office cubicles that we all know and err…..love BLAM! transforms this space and its contents into the world of action movies.    It opens […]

Gein's Family Giftshop definitely fit that category with their second volume. James Meehan, Kath Hughes, Ed Easton are the gym kit wearing troop who lead us through a maze of weird sketches covering everything, including “blood, poo and bumholes”. As […]

Kevin J: Council Estate Of Mind, Review

★★★ Gilded Balloon (Venue 14) | Aug 5-30 | 22:15 | £ 10.00 / 8.50 Kevin J hails from the Broadwater Farm Estate in London, this is his first solo hour in Edinburgh so naturally the majority of the material is about his upbringing which may not necessarily translate for everyone in the audience.    Where his set does get entertaining is when he starts talking about previewing his new […]

Ian Smith: Whereabouts, Review

★★★★★ Pleasance Courtyard | Aug 5-30 | 19:00 | £ 9.00 / 8.00 This is Ian Smith’s third solo production at the Edinburgh Fringe and it shows. Instead of jumping straight into his show Ian skillfully warms up the audience with some fun interaction and starts laying the groundwork for whats to come. Once the introductions are made you are off on a magical mystery tour of humor with subjects […]
